love it

I absolutely love the concept and everything about it, the graphics, the style, the design, THE MUSIC!!!, the giraffe... well it's a loveable little gem, only it's really not that much fun to play..! still, really like this one.

argh that was irritating

it made me go search google for the solution and the cheat I am I found it :( feels kinda bad but I had to, it would have driven me mad otherwise. well ok presentation and everything

LAUBO responds:

Lol, it is a pretty well known game, there are lots of forums made about it.

this SHOULD have been so great

I was excited to find out that the CC Fight Club game was out, I remembered hearing about it a long time ago and thought it strange I hadn't heard of it earlier. Then I thought, "only Daily 3rd place??"... well, I understand why now. It's a GREAT presentation, the characters look really cool, the more hurt they get the more hurt they look, the "chose your fighter"-screen is lovely too... but the game itself... I kept thinking "It should be better than this... it probably is... maybe it's just this character who's wrong, I'll start over again with another"... but it just didn't get fun. It never got to be a real fighting game, which is a damn shame. Well, if you ever make a sequel, hopefully you won't be forced to rush it again. Good luck with future flashes!

cableshaft responds:

I agree, it was rushed, but now it's almost 6 months later and I'm still not sure what needs to be done to make the core gameplay fun. Get ahold of me and we can discuss it, Neostone.

all i can say is

this doesn't belong here, make a homepage or whatever... seems to be an ongoing trend to just make a flash when there's plenty of good real tutorials out there, floating about on the web... well I'm sure it will be blammed but anyways, just wanted to express my opinion.

seriously

it wasn't any good. at least not the flash-section or the NG section, the two I bothered looking through. You hardly know any action-scripting and what you've got can be found in a more comprehensible and better worded form at flashkit, (and loads of other places too)... the few scripts that are worthwhile were taken from other sites or other people, and you don't even seem to understand how they work yourself... and about the NG-section, not the least impressed, just what's on this page and little more, only you managed to include some misunderstandings as well (review crew pick isn't chosen by tom or wade, it's based on the score of the reviews, d'uh)... and to top it off, horrible and uncoherent graphics and design. You might have tried hard, but really... I recommend everyone to visit flashkit instead of trying to learn anything through this copy-and-pasted "document"...

GAMECUBICLE responds:

If you look on flashkit you have to look a long time before you find something. i dont think you read trhough the whole flash part, only the actionscript part. CAUSE THIS ISNT ONLY A ACTIONTIONSCRIPT PART YOU BLIND MONKEY!
Bitch....

maamaa, as the Japanese say (they really do)

I thought it would be better, after having seen the alpha. Controls were really poor, and even if you walked in front of the other characters the movie clip was still behind them..! it must have been a huge effort but I'm sorry, I don't think the result is any good. but surely a great laugh for you and your buddies, and maybe that's what's most important.

gavD responds:

OK thanks man

well

I'm not saying you just took this from a tutorial and changed two things around but I'd say chances are pretty high you actually did... not necessarily from this one people.artcenter.edu/~vanallen/scripting/2004fa/scripting_w
k08c.html
but they've got the exact same game there... if you didn't, well whatever even if you did, I think it's a good sentiment to try and make a valentine's day game but you didn't try very hard to make it something good, now did you...

TheSchizmoExperience responds:

Actually, I didn't take this game from that tutorial. I used several little tutorials from around Flashkit as a base for the coding, and then added to it as I saw fit (Which was rather hefty now that I think about it o.o;;)

The only 2 tutorials I used were one for falling snow, which I edited for all the hearts and flowers, and a Cursor tutorial, but rather than use a cursor, I just dropped the alpha levels on a tiny black dot.

you can do better!

you shouldn't try and brag about "real media" (whatever that's supposed to mean) when the graphics aren't any good. also the gameplay was same old same old. ok, a minimal touch was added but I can't say it's the least funny. pacing's too slow too.

Great graphics!

it's great to see you back, Beast0. I was surprised when I checked out "other submissions" to see the ol' NG classics "hostage situation". welcome back! anyways, this is really a great-lookng game. I'd say it's probably the best-looking game I've ever seen on NG, even (I especially loved the character animation, well done!). The game is also very playable although it would, as blarg1 pointed out, be better if you could use the keyboard all the time instead of having to switch to using the mouse every now and then. Also, this game would be so much better with just a little bit of music / sounds. the game is already 2,5 mb though so I can understand why you didn't include any, but most NG people have broadband these days anyway, isn't it? Well, anyway, this is a great submission, and I hope this isn't the last thing you put up here.
btw, just wondering, are you using a wacom for animation and backgrounds?

it's synj! it's ... not any good!

it's synj! yet... it's pretty crappy. no harm intended. love the graphics and design, but the game itself isn't very funny.
